Hotel giving refunds to those who divorce

On Behalf of | Mar 31, 2017 | Divorce

Many California couples whose relationships are struggling to survive try to reignite the flames of love by taking romantic vacations. Some, in fact, do wind up feeling refreshed and renewed in their marital commitments. Others, however, are more determined than ever to file for divorce when they return home.

An interesting promotion is being run at a particular hotel chain. Couples who stay at the hotel in order to repair their marriages can receive a full refund of the room cost if they end up divorcing. In order to qualify for the refund, couples must divorce within a year and provide evidence of their divorce to hotel officials by showing them a valid decree.

Married couples who wish to take advantage of the offer must announce their desire to take part in the romance guarantee when they book the room or check in. They must also stay in the same room together. However, if the couple does not re-kindle their romance and wind up dissolving their marriage, the hotel will refund the money the former couple paid for a room a year earlier.

This is not meant to be some type of light-hearted advertising promotion but a way to encourage couples to salvage their relationships. Hotel spokespeople said they are so convinced their hotel will inspire people to stay married, they are not worried about losing a lot of money. Advertising schemes are all in good fun; yet, that doesn’t negate the fact that many California couples who go away together to work out their differences still find themselves facing serious marital problems that may lead to divorce when they return home. In such circumstances, it is typically an experienced family law attorney, not a hotelier, with whom one would likely want to discuss the matter.
